24 Oct Turning Pokémon Go users to small business customers
Within a week, Pokémon Go has become the most popular augmented reality app. Its success is based on nostalgia, social media and the hype of AR technology.
And we think that businesses should be as excited as the users – our previous post looks at setting up shop on selling sites to reach customers because high streets are becoming less popular. Could Pokémon Go help our local and small businesses?
Absolutely! Using the app, here are our thoughts after achieving Level 3:
- Everyone can play. Register with your Google account as a business and get sharing on your social media.
- The app gets users out of their homes. We’re sure a few of them will think that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get a drink from that café around the corner after catching a Pokémon. Watch out for new customers and an increase in trading.
- Lots of users are attracted around Lures. Businesses can set them up nearby and gain brand awareness and recognition en masse.
- Tournaments are awesome. Why not run one?
For those who haven’t heard of it yet, we recommend trying it out on your Android or iOS smartphone immediately! (Seeing it in action below is fine too…)
